Strength in Unity: OCEA Accomplishments

OCEA is made stronger when you join your co-workers as an OCEA member. We develop goals and bargaining proposals and our membership is united behind these goals. The more members we have, the greater our strength is.

Through our unity, we have accomplished many great things. Here are a few of the things OCEA has achieved in recent years for most employees in our County bargaining units. These recent achievements have all contributed to a better life for OCEA’s members and their families:

  • 2.7% at 55 retirement benefit*
  • Increase in County Health and Welfare contributions
  • Refined provisions for Performance Incentive Program
  • Improvements in disability benefits
  • Improved mileage reimbursements
  • Safety membership for deputized Probation Department employees
  • Annual Leave—more flexibility than vacation and sick leave, and vastly improved payoff for unused leave at separation
  • Establishment of United Employee Organizations of Orange County (founding member organization)

While the above applies to most County employees we represent, we have made similar strides in our Superior Court bargaining units, and with many of our City and Special District groups.
