Your LBMEA Board and OCEA representatives met with the City on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, with the goal of reaching a tentative agreement before our current contract expires. We were unable to reach an agreement because the City refused to make sufficient movement at the table. Your negotiations team will continue to fight for the improvements you deserve, and we will keep you informed . 

In accordance with our Bylaws, the Board voted to appoint Andre Chism as Vice President and Chris Caisip as Secretary. Congratulations!  

LBMEA and the City held their second negotiations session. Unsurprisingly, the City and LBMEA are far apart on the core items identified by our members. We are still early in this process, and we will continue to keep members up to date as new developments occur.

Your LBMEA negotiations team met with the City on Monday, June 8, 2026, to present our initial proposal. We built our proposal directly from your input through our negotiations survey. Our proposal includes wage increases, benefit enhancements, and other improvements designed to make a real difference.
