BCEA member,
Since April, the Brea City Employees Association has been in negotiations with the City, and we wanted to provide you a blunt assessment of where things stand.
From the start we have been clear: we demand fair raises, better healthcare, and real improvements for City workers. Yet after multiple negotiations sessions, the City has barely moved. They refuse to take our demands seriously.
BCEA members and OCEA staff have pushed City leadership to do the right thing and offer a fair MOU. But at every stage the City has failed to step up and show BCEA workers the respect and recognition we deserve. NOW WE MUST ACT!
Our biggest obstacle is the City Council majority. It is time to show them face to face that we are serious, committed, and united. We need every BCEA member to attend the June 16 City Council meeting and pack the chambers!
Standing together we can get the MOU we deserve.
RSVP to your BCEA Board member or to crosales@ocea.org.
Keep an eye on your email for further instructions. If you would like to also receive text reminders, text BCEA to 94033.
In Solidarity,
Your BCEA Negotiations Team
