OCEA members,
As you may know, OCEA put our priorities on the table in County negotiations May 27. We presented 26 proposals, focused on items including better wages, more flexibility, filling vacancies, and protecting workers from the impact of technology.
Though we face County executives at the negotiations table, the real decision makers are the five elected County Supervisors. That’s why your OCEA Board of Directors went straight to their budget meeting June 9 before the County could define our proposal for us.
Negotiations continue June 17 and we expect a response from the County to our proposal. The Board of Supervisors meets again June 23, and we’ll negotiate the following day, June 24.
