OCEA members,
Your OCEA team met with the County on Monday, June 1, 2026, to keep pushing for answers on the temporary suspension of the DNA/Collections Unit and what it means for affected staff. OCEA Labor Relations Representatives Alisha Greene and Peyton Chambers, OCEA Operations Manager Veronica Rodarte, Investigative Assistant I Julie Chavez, and Investigative Assistant II Margaret Staley, represented you at the table with County staff.
A few questions were answered. However, the County still did not have clarity on the things that matter most to you, including, but not limited to:
- How the process of picking positions will work
- A clear, written process for how the transition will happen and what rights you’ll have going forward
We brought every question you submitted to the table, along with additional considerations for the County to weigh. They committed to coming back with responses.
Join us this Thursday at Noon on Zoom (find the Zoom link in your email). We’ve asked the County to get back to us by then so that we can answer your questions before the meetings with HR that begin the week of June 8.
What we know for sure is that we are pursuing a Letter of Understanding with the County.
Memorializing this process will ensure fairness, clarity, and the assertion of your rights as a public worker.
In Solidarity,
Alisha Greene
OCEA
