You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an employee impacted by the Sheriff’s Department’s proposed Food Services schedule change.
The Department has notified OCEA of its intent to change Institutional Cooks, Food Service Workers, and Warehouse Worker IIIs assigned to Food Services from a 4/10 schedule to a 5/8 workweek, effective with the January 2027 shift change.
OCEA will hold a membership meeting for impacted employees:

OCEA is scheduled to meet and confer with the Department regarding the proposed change Sept. 21, 2026. The purpose of the Sept.16 membership meeting is to identify questions, concerns, and potential impacts for OCEA to raise with management. We will also identify approximately three impacted employees to attend the Sept. 21 meeting with OCEA as subject-matter experts.
We encourage you to attend the Sept. 16 membership meeting and share your input. If you are unable to attend, please send any questions and/or concerns to OCEA Senior Labor Relations Representative Kerensa Schupmann at kschupmann@ocea.org prior to Sept. 16 so your voice can be included in the discussion.
