OMEA Negotiations Update: Tentative Agreement Reached, Ratification Voting Open Now

Dear OMEA member,

Your OMEA Negotiations Team has reached a tentative agreement with the City of Orange. This agreement delivers a 3% cost-of-living adjustment, guaranteed job security, and a seat at the table on workplace flexibility for the year ahead.

The OMEA Negotiations Team unanimously recommends you vote YES to ratify the tentative agreement.

Here are the highlights:

Wages

  • 3% general wage increase effective June 28, 2026

No Furloughs or Layoffs

  • The City shall not implement furloughs or layoffs impacting any unit member for the duration of this agreement

Labor-Management Working Group

  • The City and OMEA will establish a joint working group within 90 days of contract adoption to evaluate and develop recommendations on alternative work schedules—including 4/10 schedules and telecommuting opportunities

Parity Agreement

  • If any other bargaining group at the City receives additional monetary compensation during this term—including specialty pay, bonuses, incentive pay, or any other form of compensation—OMEA members will receive the same, under the same terms and conditions

The full Tentative Agreement is attached below for review.

VOTING CLOSES AT 5 P.M. TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2026. Check your email for the link to vote.

In Solidarity,

Your OMEA Negotiations Team
