Dear PCEA member,
Last week, you showed the City of Placentia what solidarity truly looks like.
PCEA members filled the council chambers on Tuesday, Nov. 19. For 25 minutes, they shared personal stories, workplace struggles, and called for fair treatment.
You can watch some highlights from the speeches at the bottom of this message, and click here to watch all speakers, starting at the 20:00 minute mark. Your voices had a strong impact. Members spoke directly to the Council by name. They couldn’t ignore the faces of the workforce that keeps Placentia running.
Now that we’ve declared impasse, we are moving into mediation. A neutral party will help both sides reach a fair agreement. We will keep you updated as this process continues.
Thank you to everyone who rearranged schedules and stood together. Your solidarity is our strength. We won’t accept scraps while other groups get better deals. Every city employee deserves fair treatment.
