PCS Market Study Update: We Need Your Feedback

Dear OCEA member,

The Court has completed its classification study for the Program Coordinator/Specialist (PCS) position. After more than a year since you submitted your Position Description Questionnaires, the Court is proposing a rewrite of the PCS job classification with no increase in compensation.

We know this is not the outcome you were hoping for. Please know that your OCEA team is committed to challenging this proposal and ensuring your voice is heard throughout the process.

Here’s where things stand: Your OCEA team will be reviewing the Court’s market comparison to determine whether it accurately reflects your position in the market. Before we can do that, we need to confirm that the proposed job description accurately reflects the work you do every day — and that’s where we need your help.

Please review the proposed job description here and respond to our survey (sent to your email), which includes these questions, by March 27:

  1. Does this job description accurately describe the work you perform in your position?
  2. Are there any major changes in the job description that raise concerns?
  3. Do you have any clarifying questions or concerns about the proposed job description?
  4. For reference, the current PCS job description can be viewed here and you can click here to take the survey.

For reference, the current PCS job description can be viewed here. Find the link to the survey in your email.

What happens next: Once we receive your input, we will conduct a thorough review of the market and compare it against the Court’s study. We will then move forward through the meet and confer process to ensure that no changes are made without meaningful employee input. We will keep you updated every step of the way.

If you have any questions, please contact OCEA at 714-835-3355 and ask for a Labor Relations Representative who represents the Superior Court.

In Solidarity,

OCEA
