About the Political Action Committee
OCEA has one purpose: to provide advice and advocacy that advances the interests of working people and their families. Part of that mission means guiding OCEA members when elections could affect their family’s security.
After careful analysis, the OCEA Board of Directors will sometimes endorse candidates for public office who have demonstrated support for working people and for initiatives that strengthen protections or improve members’ lives. Conversely, the Board will sometimes vote to oppose candidates or initiatives that threaten the rights, hard-earned benefits, and dignity of working people.
The OCEA Political Action Committee — governed by an 11-member executive committee of County and Court workers — periodically provides financial support to those candidates. Participation in the PAC is optional for all OCEA members.
