Regarding the Orangewood Open Forum & Safety Concerns

Dear OCEA member,

You may have seen OCFC’s recent email noting that the Orangewood Monthly Open Forum is temporarily on hold. We want to provide additional context, so members understand the reason for this pause.

While employees have continued sharing safety concerns with us directly, the Open Forum was not receiving actionable agenda items. As a result, important issues were not making their way into this space. To ensure concerns are addressed more reliably, we are temporarily shifting to a different process.

OCEA representatives are now meeting monthly with management—including Maureen Mutch, Nancy Genovese, and Kristi Fiskum—to discuss the issues members raise with us. This allows us to bring forward concerns in a more structured and consistent manner. Our next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 10, 2025.

You may share your concerns through either of the following:

  1. Your OCEA Representative Carolyn Gasga at cgasga@ocea.org
  2. Management’s OCFC Inbox at ocfcmanagementinbox@ssa.ocgov.com

Members are welcome to include any suggestions for improvements or solutions, as these can help guide productive discussions.

The goal of this temporary change is to ensure that your concerns are heard and addressed in a timely manner—not to reduce communication or engagement.

We are aware of the recent increase in reported safety concerns and are actively raising these issues with management. If you are experiencing safety issues or have questions, please reach out. We are here to support you.

In Solidarity,

OCEA
