Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson has proposed putting temporary homeless shelters on county-owned land in Irvine, Huntington Beach and Santa Ana – and he wants the first one to open within 30 days.

OC Register: A fine salute to Garden Grove’s Tibor Rubin, the Korean War hero with a VA hospital named after him now

The announcement first came at the end of 2016 but in case you’d forgotten Brainiac is here to help: Tibor Rubin, the late Congressional Medal of Honor recipient from Garden Grove, was honored Wednesday when the Long Beach veterans hospital was rededicated in Rubin’s name.
