Voice of OC: Report on DA’s Office reforms on informant use expected soon

Orange County District Attorney officials say a report on a year-long review of reforms intended to prevent misuse of informants and ensure proper disclosure of evidence is expected in the next few weeks.

 

OC Register: JWA passenger traffic increases 1.7 percent in July

The top three airlines based on passenger count in July were Southwest Airlines (344,049), American Airlines (160,992) and United Airlines (142,861). The airport saw 919,223 passengers in July 2017 compared with 903,955 in July 2016.

OCGOV.com: Report finds opioid overdoses on the rise

The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) today released the “Opioid Overdose and Death in Orange County” report. Among key findings: the rate of opioid-elated emergency department (ED) visits has more than doubled since 2005.

 

OC Register: New park with playground, tennis courts opens in Irvine’s Eastwood Village

The tennis courts and sports fields will be available for drop-in use daily, and will also be used for city and other recreational sports programs. The park opens to the public today.

OC Register: Santa Ana school district considering workforce agreement prioritizing its graduates, city residents, veterans

The Santa Ana Unified School District board on Wednesday, Aug. 23, will consider entering into a community workforce agreement requiring union labor on construction contracts, similar to an agreement the Santa Ana City Council approved last week.
