The decision will let 178 flight readiness technicians and inspectors at Boeing's 787 Dreamliner plant decide whether they want to join the union, which already represents thousands of Boeing workers on the West Coast.

OC Register: California school spending grows at fastest pace in the U.S.

Let’s not forget California’s governmental budgets (handling all chores) were hammered by the Great Recession. Some of this recent statewide surge in school outlays — which includes tracking salary, benefits (including funding for pensions) — is simply restoring educational spending to previous levels.
