The City Charter requires the council to try to appoint someone, but if they don’t get any qualified candidates or a majority of the council can’t agree on one, a special election would be held this November.

Continuing work to widen the 405 freeway is expected to require overnight closures March 9 and March 16, on both sides of the Fairview Road bridge, weather permitting.
