Anaheim Libraries Becomes Finalist for National Award
Congratulations to all AMEA members who work at the Anaheim Public Library!
In late March, the Anaheim Public Library became one of 15 libraries named as FINALISTS for the 2023 National Medal for Museum and Library Science.
This medal—given by the Institute of Museum and Library Services—is the highest honor a library system or museum can be awarded. Nearly 200 institutions have been honored nationwide since the award was created in 1996.
This is the first time in Anaheim Public Library’s history that APL has been recognized for this coveted award!
National Medal winners will be announced in late May. Representatives from winning institutions will be honored at a National Medals Ceremony this summer in Washington, D.C.
The IMLS will showcase work from all finalists on their social media in April and May. If you have a post that shows how your live has been touched by the Anaheim Public Library, please post it and hashtag it with #IMLSmedals!
