Animal Care LMC Update
Dear OCEA member,
Big changes are coming to Animal Care this year with the move to a new, spacious facility. The transition was a big part of the discussion at last week’s Labor Management Committee (LMC) meeting attended on your behalf by your coworkers and OCEA staff (myself and Veronica Rodarte).
During the meeting we discussed preparations for the move to the new shelter. Management representatives shared that many of you have taken a tour of the new facility. For those who haven’t, please reach out to your supervisor to schedule a visit.
We know many of you have been waiting for a firm move-in date. There may be challenges as a result of the move or settling in at the new location. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Veronica or myself if you have suggestions, questions or concerns. We are committed to helping make the transition run as smoothly as possible while protecting your rights under the Memorandum of Understanding.
You can share your concerns, issues or ideas for making the move a success using a LMC submission form (available in the breakroom) and getting it to one of your Stewards:
- Zuli Ayala
- Erika Bennett
- Jamie Link
- Christian Medina
- Kyle Werner
You can also send us the form or contact us at (714) 835-3355 or at saregaye@ocea.org or vrodarte@ocea.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for all you do in protecting the health and safety of the public as it relates to your important Animal Care work. Standing together, we can make sure this historic move to a new facility is handled properly and fairly.
In solidarity,
Saliem Aregaye and Veronica Rodarte
