APPLY BEFORE MARCH 7: 2025 PORAC Scholarship Grant

Dear OCEA PORAC member,

The rising cost of higher education can be a significant obstacle for many working families. To help overcome this challenge, the OCEA-affiliated Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) provides annual scholarships to support working individuals and their families.

Eligible members can apply now for a scholarship to help offset education fees. The PORAC Scholarship Committee will determine the amount of the scholarship award after reviewing all applications, according to a PORAC rep.

The deadline to apply to the Sacramento PORAC office is March 7, 2025Click here to get more information and to download the application. PORAC scholarships are available to the dependents of active and retired PORAC members, and to spouses or dependents of active members who died in the line of duty. Members who have medically retired from a regular PORAC association are also eligible. PORAC’s Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to applicants who are attending or will be registering for college. Scholarships are not restricted to applicants considering law enforcement as a career, but PORAC hopes the program encourages young people in that direction.

Access to PORAC scholarships is just one of the benefits of OCEA membership.

OCEA also offers three scholarships to the children or stepchildren of OCEA members (or whose legal guardian or financially responsible grandparent is an OCEA member). You are eligible to apply for both. Applications for the OCEA scholarships (to be awarded typically in June) will be available this Spring, so be on the lookout in the coming months for more info.

In Solidarity,

OCEA
