Attention County & Court Workers with HCRA/DCRA accounts!
Dear OCEA member,
Approximately 3,000 County and Court workers participate in Health Care Reimbursement Account (HCRA) and Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA) programs. According to a recent communication from the County, some current participants have had to cancel or change plans due to the ongoing pandemic with a concurrent impact to their anticipated annual expenses.
As a result, the County is offering a one-time, non-Qualifying Life Event window to change your 2020 annual goal amount. Time if of the essence! You must respond by October 16 in order for your changes to be accepted. If you don't want to make any changes to your HCRA or DCRA accounts, disregard this notice. Again, this one-time window to change your plan contributions only applies to County and Court workers who participate in these programs and want to make changes.
You will have the opportunity to change your annual goal to: a) your current year-to-date contributions; or b) the amount that you have been reimbursed in this plan year, whichever is greater. Your biweekly contribution for the remainder of the year will be adjusted to reflect the new goal. You can read the communication sent by the County to program participants by clicking here.
For more information on eligible HCRA expenses, login to mybenefits.ocgov.com and review the Health Care Reimbursement Account Eligible Expenses guide in your SmartChoice Account Resources Page. If you have questions about either program, please email HR_EmployeeBenefits@ocgov.comand and include “reimbursement questions” in the subject line. You will receive an email response within 24-48 hours, according to the County's message.
Stay safe out there.
In Solidarity,
Charles Barfield
