BCEA Negotiations Update: June 4, 2023

Dear BCEA member,

The BCEA negotiations team met with the City for a negotiation's session on Thursday, June 1. BCEA hears you—and the City recognizes—that a number of job classifications are not within market and adjustments are needed! The City also indicated it is looking into data provided by the BCEA team and will offer a more thorough response to your team’s proposal next week. Progress was made at the table this week and we are cautiously optimistic that we can reach a tentative agreement that recognizes your hard work and sacrifice. Nevertheless, we are still awaiting responses from the City to a number of our proposals. We are steadfast in our demand for equitable wage increases that reflect the economic realities and challenges of the world we live in today. Our next negotiations session is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
