Dear OCEA member,
When you’ve worked your whole life you deserve to retire with peace of mind knowing your pension will be there for you. That’s why it’s so important to have fighters who represent the interests of working families on the OCERS Board of Retirement.
My name is Chris Prevatt. I am a Program Supervisor at the County Health Care Agency. I joined OCEA in 2000, becoming a Steward in 2006. I first joined the OCEA Board of Directors in 2007 and currently serve as Second Vice President. One of my major priorities as a Board member is the retirement security of every OCERS member.
When I was first elected to the OCERS Board in 2012, our retirement security was under attack by four Board members who had been appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Instead of protecting our retirement, they tried to eliminate our defined benefit pension plan and replace it with inferior 401(k)s.
I joined with fellow Board members to defeat that effort and in 2015 and 2018, I was re-elected to represent you on the Board of Retirement. Maintaining a strong voice for working families on the OCERS Board is critical to ensure our pensions are safe and secure. I’ve been that strong voice and that's why I am again asking for your support this year!
I have been endorsed by OCEA, OCERS Board member Adele Tagaloa, and retiree Board member and former OCEA President Frank Eley.
I can’t win this battle alone. If you want to help preserve your retirement security, you can learn about volunteer opportunities at ocea.org/getinvolved. You will also receive more information about the election soon!
Vote for the candidate who has the experience and track record to stand for ALL workers, not just a select few. Vote Chris Prevatt for OCERS Board!
In Solidarity,
Chris Prevatt, Candidate
OCERS Board of Directors, 2021
