Chris Prevatt wins re-election to the OCERS Board of Retirement!
Dear OCERS member,
In a strong win for working families, OCEA 2nd Vice President and OCERS Trustee Chris Prevatt has won re-election to the OCERS Board of Retirement. The election results were reported Tuesday by Neal Kelley, Orange County Registrar of Voters.
Chris was endorsed by your fellow OCEA members, County workers represented by AFSCME, and the Orange County Labor Federation. He will continue to serve on the OCERS Board with OCEA Board Member Adele Tagaloa and retired OCEA President Frank Eley. Chris’ win means these three experienced advocates will form a strong pro-worker coalition to promote policies that protect your retirement security and that of other OCERS plan participants.
The ten-member Board of Retirement includes four members appointed by the Board of Supervisors, the County Treasurer, a public safety representative, and a public safety alternate. Chris has served on the Board of Retirement since 2013 and this experience plus his commitment to the interests of OCERS members informs every decision he makes.
We can never be certain from where attacks on our retirement security will come. OCEA members can feel secure that advocates with experience, integrity and commitment will be protecting your pensions.
Congratulations to Chris Prevatt on his re-election to the OCERS Board of Retirement!
In Solidarity,
Charles Barfield
OCEA General Manager
