Court Clerk Market Study update

Attention Court Clerk members,

As a result of our last MOU negotiations, the Court Clerk job series is having a market study performed. The purpose of this study is to assess the current duties of Court Clerks as well as your wage position in the market. It is simple. Fair pay for a hard day’s work.

Many of you have submitted your PDQ to the Court, but many are still yet to be turned in. Completing the PDQ is a critical step so you can be properly studied and all of your additional duties are given proper consideration.

In an effort to complete PDQ’s, OCEA has secured up to two (2) hours of overtime for all Court Clerks and was made aware that certain Justice Centers are providing coverage to allow time away to complete PDQ’s. You should work with your supervisor to request this time.

The deadline to submit your PDQ has been extended to Friday, May 25. So if you haven’t completed your PDQ, please complete and submit it as soon as possible.

It has been 17 years since this position has been studied and recent developments in Sacramento related to the budget mean we have a great opportunity to bring fairness to the Court Clerk series.

In solidarity,

Bridgette Washington
