COVID-19 Safety Update - City of Anaheim
Dear AMEA Member,
We hope this email finds you and your family safe. As you probably have observed over the past several weeks, there has been a significant increase in COVID-19 cases across the City’s workforce.
With the assistance of OCEA, we have been monitoring the number and location of cases in AMEA workplaces. We have also been applying pressure to the City to comply with its reporting and disclosure requirements under frequently updated Cal-OSHA standards and regulations. Please click here to read our latest communication to the City sent on February 5, 2021.
On another important issue, we have not received any communication from the City regarding the City’s economic challenges or their possible impact on AMEA members. We will let you know in the event we do. In the meantime, it appears the President’s economic recovery package is headed towards Congressional approval in the next few weeks. That package contains significant aid for state and local governments, a potential injection of cash that could alleviate or even eliminate the City’s situation.
We’ll keep you posted as we get more information. In the meantime, stay safe and support your co-workers every way you can.
In Solidarity,
AMEA Executive Board
