Editorial: Keep Public Servants Working to Keep Our Communities Safe
Dear OCEA member,
The Voice of OC digital news publication posted an editorial written by OCEA General Manager Charles Barfield. CB advocates that Washington D.C. provide additional critical financial support for local government in response to the pandemic. While COVID-19 continues to cost lives, the economic damage to our cities, counties and states due to lost revenues threatens their ability to provide the essential government services we depend on and expect.
You can read the editorial by clicking here: "Barfield: Let's Keep Public Servants Working to Keep Our Communities Safe," or on OCEA's Facebook page. Please like and share if you so choose. For many public workers, providing essential services means that you are more likely to contract COVID-19. We are going to need all levels of government to stand together for the good of all.
