FMEF Call to Action - November 2, 2021 City Council Mtg.

Dear FMEF member,

Your FMEF Bargaining Team participated in our second negotiations session with the City on Wednesday, October 27.

The FMEF Bargaining Team continues to hold the line on the issues that are most important to FMEF members and their families—stability in the workforce, wage increases, and no takeaways.

The meeting was brief and FMEF presented a counterproposal to the City. The City needs to resolve the ongoing uncertainty surrounding next year’s budget to pick up the pace of negotiations. That is why we are mobilizing to attend the November 2 City Council Meeting taking place at 6:30 p.m.

Join us outside City Hall at 5:30 p.m. for dinner. Our presence and voices are powerful. Together, we will fight to prevent the Council from making drastic cuts to labor costs. Our continued solidarity will pay off at the bargaining table, too. We hope you can join us!

Please contact me at vrodarte@ocea.org or your FMEF Board members should you have any questions. We will report on new developments as they occur. See you all on Tuesday!

In Solidarity,

Veronica Rodarte
Sr. Labor Relations Representative
