FMEF contract ratified
Dear FMEF member,
We did it! Tuesday night, the Fullerton City Council voted 4-1 to ratify the FMEF contract. This was the final step in our bargaining process and all negotiated contract enhancements will take effect at the start of the next pay period, March 18. These enhancements include:
- 5.25% general wage increase
- Increase Boot Allowance to $250 per year
- Increase Comp Bank accrual limit to 160 hours
- Elimination of Article 57 (which allowed the City to outsource FMEF work)
Beyond contract negotiations, we know there are longstanding issues to address in Fullerton. We will continue to monitor important issues and will be in bargaining in one year. FMEF is you and your co-workers standing together to have a say in the workplace. These negotiations have shown that when we stand together, we win. If you are interested in getting more involved please reach out to a current FMEF board member or go to ocea.org/getinvolved and fill out the form.
In Solidarity,
Veronica Rodarte
