Free Veterans Day Event at Heroes Hall
Dear OCEA member,
We want to tell you about an upcoming Veterans Day event at Heroes Hall in Costa Mesa on the grounds of the OC Fair & Event Center. The area was once known as the Santa Ana Army Air Base (SAAAB) - a training camp for WW II era pilots and navigators. That history comes to life in a special exhibit re-opening 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.
The "Celebrating Veterans at Heroes Hall" event is free and includes a performance of the All-American Boys Chorus, Marine Corps birthday cake cutting, and activities for kids. The special day is brought to you by the Heroes Hall Foundation in partnership with the OC Fair & Event Center.
Heroes Hall is one-of-a kind museum dedicated to honoring and celebrating Orange County's veterans.
OCEA Salute to Veterans
For years, OCEA members have celebrated the connection between America’s military veterans and the working men and women of our country. Many of you may be familiar with the annual "Salute to Veterans" event held by OCEA in partnership with Southern California labor unions and the OC Fair & Event Center.
We have not been able to hold the event since the onset of the pandemic. However, to honor veterans this year, we produced a short video featuring OCEA members who now serve the community after serving our country in the military. Four of our OCEA member veterans and a family member of a veteran are featured in the production which we will distribute to you and other OCEA members by email on Nov. 11.
We look forward to seeing you at Heroes Hall event on Veterans Day.
In Solidarity,
Orange County Employees Association
