GGCEA & GGEL Negotiations Update: June 13, 2022
Dear Garden Grove member,
The Garden Grove Employees League and the Garden Grove City Employees Association Negotiations Team met with City representatives June 9 for our third negotiations session. At our previous negotiations meeting we made minor progress on a few items but remained apart on the items of most importance. Read the last update here.
We again reiterated our position that we demand a fair wage enhancement and other MOU improvements that will help recruit and retain the best and brightest public servants. Our proposal is fair, and it is consistent with the public sector market. Despite our commonsense rationale, the City continues to reject many of our proposals outright and is proposing a wage proposal that is well below what inflation is stealing from our paychecks.
Our proposal will be discussed with Council on June 14 during closed session. We meet again with the City on June 16 for our next negotiations session.
We will let you know whether the City makes any movement toward a fair MOU.
