We are happy to announce that the City Council voted to adopt both tentative agreements for the Middle Manager, Professional, and Supervisory (MPS), and the Maintenance, Clerical, and Technical (MCT) unit.
BCEA—Negotiations Session Cancelled

The May 9, 2023, scheduled negotiations session was cancelled by the City, as was a tentatively scheduled session for this week.

Laguna Niguel Negotiations Update: May 9, 2023

At the Middle Manager, Professional, and Supervisory (MPS) unit meeting on Monday, May 8, the membership voted to approve the tentative agreement with no changes, which the Maintenance, Clerical, and Technical (MCT) unit had previously voted to approve on May 2.

To provide a more comprehensive overview of where negotiations stand and to answer any questions, the negotiations team will hold a Virtual Membership Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11.
Improved Retiree Healthcare Selection Deadline is May 18!

Effective June 16, 2023, the County is transitioning from the current Retiree Medical Grant to a Health Reimbursement Arrangement. You have two options: 1) ROLLOVER the value of your Retiree Medical Grant to an HRA or 2) RETAIN the frozen Retiree Medical Grant. The deadline to make this choice is by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, May 18.
Laguna Niguel Negotiations Update & Membership Meetings

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the OCEA ratification meeting on Tuesday, May 2. At the meeting members of each bargaining unit represented by OCEA (the Maintenance, Clerical and Technical, and the Middle Management Professional and Supervisory) voted whether to approve or reject the tentative agreement reached during negotiations.

Meeting Postponed for IHSS Summer Vacation Guidelines

The County postponed our meeting with SSA Management regarding the Summer Vacation Guidelines recently sent to IHSS workers to Monday, May 11. As you know from our previous email, we need more input from IHSS workers like yourselves. This postponement allows us more time to include the voices of you and your co-workers in this process.
