Introduce an item for consideration for the OCEA-Public Defender LMC
Dear OCEA member,
Your fellow OCEA members and Stewards have translated Civic Center safety concerns into action. We are pleased to announce the reestablishment of the OCEA-Public Defender Labor Management Committee (LMC). The Labor Management Committee is “intended for agency and department management and labor representatives to collaborate in a regularly scheduled forum to develop solutions to workplace issues...” The LMC is a negotiated item in our MOU, and it is meant to allow OCEA represented workers a chance to make improvements at work.
Although this committee arose from safety concerns, it is not limited to any one topic. This collaborative partnership aims to address issues, promote open discussion, and collaboratively reach solutions.
OCEA members and Stewards assigned to the committee are Sergio Mejia, Jessica Herrera, Liza Cooper-Butler, Shelly Dante and Tracey Oshiro. They will join representatives from agency management who will also participate in the LMC.
To introduce an item for consideration for the LMC, please complete the form and turn it in to one of the people listed above. You can also contact me at mrubio@ocea.org, or by calling (714) 835-3355. You do not need to include your name or be present for the meeting to introduce an item, however we do hope you will join us for our next meeting! Our next meeting is scheduled at Noon Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Lunch will be provided. Ms. Sharon Petrosino, OC Public Defender, will attend the first part of the meeting.
When working people stand together, we have more power. The LMC is another way you and your co-workers can have a voice on the job. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you is a privilege and I look forward to making the Public Defender’s Office an even better place to work.
In Solidarity,
Michelle Rubio
