LAST CHANCE to complete the 2023 Negotiations Survey
Dear OCEA member,
Thank you to all OCEA members who have submitted their 2023 OCEA Negotiations Survey! We’ve heard from some of you during our recent OCEA Members Only events that you were waiting for more information to complete your survey. While we are not able to bring our presentation to every agency, we want to present it to you here in case you need more information, too.
Please review our Negotiations 101 Video for a brief, informative look at the negotiations process, including why completing the negotiations survey is so important and how your responses help to craft our strategy at the negotiations table. If you would like a more in-depth presentation about the rights and benefits provided by your MOU, please watch this 30-min. MOU Training conducted by OCEA Associate General Counsel Tia Grasso.
This is your opportunity to tell us what your priorities are at the negotiations table regarding your pay, workplace conditions, agency-specific suggestions and more. PLEASE DON’T LET THIS CHANCE PASS YOU BY. Click here to take the survey.
To ensure you’ve had time to watch the video and address any questions you may have, we are extending the survey deadline until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1.
Remember, your MOU is not just words on paper—it’s much more than that. It establishes your rights the day you are hired. Your pay. Your benefit levels. It stays with you as you progress through your career, giving you rights as you are promoted. As your life changes, the MOU protects that, too. If you start a family, there’s language that allows you leave. If something bad happens to you, there’s language to protect your job when you need to care for yourself or a family member. And in your last days of employment the MOU lays out the dignity and respect you have earned in retirement for your years—and for some, a lifetime—of public service. It’s not just a contract, it’s your life.
The MOU we have represents decades of work by OCEA members who came before us. Now is the time to honor their hard work and sacrifice by making sure your voice is heard in your union—complete and submit the negotiations survey today!
