Negotiations Update & MOU Expiration

Dear OCEA Member,

Your bargaining team has been working tirelessly on negotiating a fair contract that respects the work you do each day to keep our community safe. Over the past several months, the team has been meeting with OCFA management to discuss proposals that you and your co-workers have indicated are priorities.

Despite the ongoing meetings, discussions have become contentious and management has not yet agreed to a fair wage proposal. The current MOU expired Friday; however as we continue to bargain, all terms and conditions of the MOU remain in place.

We hope to come to a tentative agreement as soon as possible; however we remain resolute that you are treated fairly and that your efforts are recognized with a fair contract. If we reach a tentative agreement, we will be communicating the next steps so please look out for forthcoming emails.

Thank you to all of the members who have held firm throughout this process, we will continue to fight to protect your rights and to earn a fair contract for everyone.

In Solidarity,
