OCEA to host Blood Donation Drive in association with the American Red Cross—June 22

Dear OCEA member,

OCEA members are standing together with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at OCEA Headquarters on June 22. OCEA members give each day to the communities we serve, and this is another way we give back to those in need through our union.

We all know there is a huge need. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood according to the Red Cross. That translates to about 36,000 units of blood needed every day in our country (a unit is equivalent to a pint). A single car accident victim could require as many as 100 pints to stay alive.

The American Red Cross will be set-up and ready to take your blood donation from Noon–6 p.m. at OCEA, 830 N. Ross Street in Santa Ana. To make an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: OCEASA.

Every member who donates blood will be entered into an opportunity drawing for free theme park tickets and will get plenty of treats to keep your energy level up.

It’s not an exaggeration to say your blood donation could save a life. It happens every day across the United States and we are proud that OCEA members are part of this effort.

In Solidarity,

Jennifer Beuthin
OCEA General Manager
