OCFA Bargaining Update: April 7, 2022
Dear OCEA member,
We are calling an Emergency Membership Meeting at 5 p.m. April 21 in the OCFA Board of Directors Office. Your attendance is vital to making progress in our ongoing negotiations.
As you may know, your OCFA Bargaining Team met this week, and—after 10 months of delays—OCFA finally gave us an economic proposal. What they offered was beyond insulting. We started this process last June. Nearly a year later, the JPA Board of Directors and OCFA Management are still failing to honor the work you have put in during COVID, and the sacrifices you and your families have made during this challenging time in the face of rising inflation.
It is time to discuss next steps. This is a critical meeting. Please make sure you attend.
In Solidarity,
Sami Soto, Fire Communications Supervisor
John Bowden, Assistant Fire Marshal
Don Friedline, Fleet Services Supervisor
Eric Monroe, Heavy Equipment Operator II
Rich Swanson, Fire Prevention Analyst
Aaron Peardon, OCEA Senior Labor Relations Representative
Kate Wolf, OCEA Labor Relations Representative
Don Drozd, OCEA General Counsel
Charles Barfield, OCEA General Manager
