OCFA Negotiations: April 18, 2018

Dear OCEA member,

Yesterday your bargaining team met with OCFA management in mediation of our contract impasse. Jerry Fecher from the California State Mediation and Conciliation Services conducted the mediation. After six hours of mediation and many back and forth proposals aimed at resolving our remaining issues, we are still at impasse. However, the parties felt that another day of mediation might help bring us together for final resolution on our issues. Therefore we have scheduled another mediation date for Thursday, May 10. We also agreed to extend the deadline for filing a request for Fact Finding to Thursday, May 17. Following the meeting on May 10, we will immediately communicate with you to let you know of our next steps. 

Please stay strong during this time and know that your team is doing everything in our power to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
