OCFA Negotiations Update: March 9, 2023

Dear OCEA member,

Your OCEA negotiations team met with Peter Brown, Chief Zeller, Chief Holloman and Sam Penrod from HR this morning. For the first time in over a year, we had a productive meeting which included OCFA increasing their wage proposal. However, it was not enough and not yet reflective of your value or the valuable services that you provide.

We submitted a counterproposal that the OCFA team will take to closed session at the next JPA Board meeting on March 23. We are hopeful the movement made today indicates that OCFA is finally motivated to get serious and reach a tentative agreement that we can bring to you for ratification.

We have two additional meetings scheduled for March 30 and April 20. In order to protect our position at the bargaining table, we cannot share further specifics —however, if and when a tentative agreement is reached, we will of course share all details prior to conducting a vote.
