Community Briefing Webinar
On Aug. 24, OCEA and Local 3631 hosted a Community Briefing via Zoom on the crisis facing OCFA. The purpose of the briefing was to educate and mobilize our allies to help us achieve a fair MOU. OCEA General Manager Charles Barfield and OC Professional Firefighters Local 3631 President Todd Baldridge went through a powerful presentation that outlined how OCFA is structured, what is happening at the negotiations table, and how the community can stand with workers for a fair MOU.
In attendance were OCEA members from OCFA; OCEA members from the Superior Court and County departments and agencies; representatives of several other Unions; candidates for office and elected officials. Notable elected officials who were in attendance to show support for workers were Assemblywoman Cottie Pietre-Norris, County Supervisor Katrina Foley, Buena Park Mayor Connor Traut, and many more. Our efforts are building a powerful coalition of County leaders who stand with workers!
Get Involved
Some people have a misguided notion of a union. A union is not a consumer product you shop for online. It is an active movement where workers have the power to change their lives by building power. A union is working people standing together. Together we are OCEA. The way we achieve our power is through exercising it. Like a muscle, it must be used. We need you to get involved!
Click here to see how you can flex your power and fight for a better MOU.
Remember, together we are OCEA!
In Solidarity,
OCEA
