O&E Reorganization Update: April 15 Meeting Recap

Dear O&E member,

We met with the County Tuesday, April 15, 2025, to continue discussions regarding the proposed reorganization of your program. Representing O&E at the table were Michelle Ruiz, Thanh Nghi Nguyen, Julio Ventura, Rosa Gonzalez, and OCEA staff.

Ahead of this session, the County provided additional documentation, including the names of individuals who are moving. If you have questions, please give us a call. The additional documents include:

• The Study the County Cites as the Basis for the Proposed Changes
• A List of Questions Your Team Compiled Along with the County’s Responses

During the meeting, your team asked additional questions related to the transition of databases and assets, onboarding processes, job expectations, work locations, scheduling, and career progression opportunities. One item that requires further clarification is how the proposed changes may impact individuals currently enrolled in loan forgiveness programs. The item remains scheduled for the April 22 Board of Supervisors agenda for approval (agenda), and the County intends to have more details and discussions with staff before implementation.
