PCEA Bargaining Update - July 8, 2021

Dear PCEA Member,

Current negotiations with City representatives continue with another meeting scheduled for July 21. The City has expressed interest in a short-term contract and has not yet proposed a general wage increase but your PCEA Bargaining Team has made it clear such an increase must be included in any new contract. We asked City representatives to obtain City Council authorization for a fair general wage increase.

Your PCEA Bargaining team has met several times with the City and discussed several items identified through our PCEA Survey earlier this year. As many of you are aware, our current contract has expired. However, all terms and conditions remain in force while a successor MOU is negotiated.

We are working as quickly as possible to secure a deal and would then begin bargaining again early next year.

We will keep you updated as events unfold. Please feel free to contact me at vrodarte@ocea.org or any PCEA Board member should you have any questions or concerns.

In Solidarity,

Veronica Rodarte
Sr. Labor Relations Representative
