Remote Civil Proceedings: Public Comment
Dear OCEA member,
As you know, remote proceedings are becoming more and more common. To create a worker-driven approach to remote proceedings the California Legislature needs to hear directly from workers! Please see the email below from the CA Court Reporters Association. In the email ALL Court workers are encouraged to provide their voice via a virtual working group Sept. 1.
In Solidarity,
OCEA
Remote Civil Proceedings - Public Comment
CCRA encourages participation in the public comment session by court reporters, court interpreters, court workers and all court users to let your voices be heard about your experience with remote proceedings. Please mark your calendars for the public comment session this Thursday, Sept. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As the Code of Civil Procedure Section 367.9 Working Group (367.9 Working Group) begins shaping recommendations in response to the Legislature’s charge to develop a statewide framework for remote civil court proceedings that addresses equal and fair access to justice, we are asking for input from the public to assist in our development.
Comments can be provided virtually during the 367.9 Working Group open meeting on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., or submitted in writing to 367.9WorkingGroup@jud.ca.gov by Thursday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.
The meeting link and basic instructions are provided below, but please visit the Code of Civil Procedure Section 367.9 Working Group webpage for more information about the meeting, including full instructions and helpful tips.
