Sanitation District Members Decline HRA Benefit

Dear OCEA member,

On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, a ratification vote was held on a proposed Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). The result: A majority of the voting membership declined to ratify the benefit. 

As you may recall, we emailed information to Sanitation District workers on the proposed HRA benefit Aug. 18, Sept. 20, Nov. 24, and 29. The September communication included a link to a comprehensive video presentation. 

Thank you to those who participated in the ratification election. It's critical that members voice their concerns through a democratic process. We will be adding questions about the HRA Benefit decision to an upcoming bargaining survey. Please let us know what your concerns are to better assess any future proposals in this area.
