Sanitation District workers—Contract Reopener Vote Dec. 1
Dear OCEA member,
Your OCEA Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with the District concerning a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) benefit. HRAs are designed to help workers pay for qualified medical expenses incurred during retirement. A typical program has workers and employers making tax-free contributions to an HRA account.
The terms of the new benefit must be approved or rejected by OCEA members through a ratification vote. Only OCEA members may cast a vote. You can click here to review the tentative agreement. We have scheduled a virtual meeting to receive your vote at Noon Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. The Zoom meeting information is included below.
Here are some of the key points:
- Should the majority of members vote "yes," all members will participate.
- Individual members cannot opt out.
- Should the majority vote "no," all members will be ineligible for the HRA benefit.
- All members will contribute the same amount if the HRA benefit is approved.
