Seal Beach Negotiations Update: April 7, 2025
Dear Seal Beach member,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our recent membership meeting. For those who could not attend, here’s a summary of the updates we provided.
We introduced OCEA Labor Relations Representative Alisha Greene as your new bargaining unit representative and lead negotiator. Alisha has many years of experience at OCEA working both in labor relations and organizing capacities. Staff representatives on your negotiations team also include OCEA Operations Manager Veronica Rodarte, and OCEA Organizer Adam Ribota.
Your member representatives on the negotiations team will include two members from public works and two from the police department.
OCEA presented a Bargaining 101 training for those new to the bargaining unit, and we launched the 2025 Seal Beach Negotiations Survey. The survey will be open until this Friday, April 11.
Remember, this is your chance to let us know your priorities for negotiations so that you have a voice at the table. Click here to take the survey.
We will continue to send negotiations updates to your personal email address. Please make sure your co-workers have their emails updated too. The more informed we all are during negotiations, the stronger we are collectively at the table.
Additionally, we were made aware of a pending reorganization of the Water/Public Works Department. We will contact the City to meet and confer on this matter. If you have any feedback regarding specific impacts this may have, please contact Alisha at agreene@ocea.org.
Stay tuned for more updates.
In Solidarity,
OCEA
