See the good in yourself with Kaiser Permanente's Kevin Pham
Dear OCEA member,
It's time for another OCEA "members only" seminar with Kaiser Permanente's Kevin Pham. This week, Kevin focuses on "Finding the Good in Yourself." This is the 5th installment of an eight-week course entitled "Mindful Minute with Kevin Pham." OCEA is providing the series to our members in partnership with Kaiser Permanente.

This week's tips from Kevin Pham
"Our brain has something called a negativity bias," says Kevin. "We focus on the bad and overlook the good. If everything goes right in our day, and one thing goes wrong, we tend to focus on what's wrong."
Below are some tips for you to practice when you're feeling down on yourself:
- Think about one thing that you're proud of about yourself. Remember that sensation? Savor and embrace it!
- Remember that you have so much to give to people and the world;
- When friends or family beat themselves up, you probably help pull them out of it. But what about ourselves?
- Think about what you say to help others and remember you are worthy of the same support.
OCEA's “members only” seminars were previously held at OCEA Headquarters or at various work locations. With the increase in COVID-19 vaccination rates, we look forward to holding these seminars in person soon. Until then, we remain committed to standing together with each of you in our union. We are OCEA strong!
