Urgent - OCWDEA Membership input needed

Dear OCWDEA member, 

As you know, the OCWDEA Board has been negotiating a successor MOU with District representatives. We have reached a point in negotiations where your Association Board wants to solicit your input. Part of the District’s proposal is a $75 per member per pay period ($1,950 per year) deferred compensation match—but that match is contingent on our agreement to a 5-year term with fixed annual wage increases.

District Proposal

  • 5 year contract
    • Years 1 through 3—2% general wage increase each year
    • Year 4 and 5—2.5% general wage increase each year
  • Deferred Comp Match—$75 per pay period ($1950 per year)—would include sunset language, meaning it would have to be negotiated again next contract.
  • Improvements to Medical coverage amounts
  • Increase to graveyard shift differential
  • Clarification on Education reimbursement/training/certification language

This is not a ratification vote, no tentative agreement has been reached. However, we want your input to help guide your Association Board.
