Urgent! SCCEA Negotiations Update Meeting
Dear SCCEA Member,
The City has presented its last, best, and final proposal after negotiations with your Bargaining Team. As you may recall last February, the City Council rejected the tentative agreement reached by SCCEA and City negotiators.
A ratification vote to accept or reject the City’s proposal will take place Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the City Hall parking lot and Thursday, October 15, at the Maintenance Yard. Voting at both locations takes place from Noon to 1 p.m.
Before we take the next step and actually vote, it’s important that you have an opportunity to learn about the City’s proposal. We will have an informational meeting via Zoom on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 12 p.m. At that time, we will discuss the terms of the City’s one-year proposal. For Zoom details, please contact me at at saregaye@ocea.org. Be sure you attend the Zoom meeting on a break or during your lunch hour. You can read the City's proposal by clicking here.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me at saregaye@ocea.org or to any of your SCCEA Board members. I want to thank each of you for your patience and perseverance in getting to this stage especially in these unprecedented times. We are stronger together.
In Solidarity,
Saliem Aregaye
Lead Negotiator
