Want a promotion? OCEA-sponsored career development workshops now available online

OCEA and County Human Resource Services recently partnered to present two Career Development workshops for OCEA members. The first highlighted the recruitment process and focused on completing an application using https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/oc. The goal of the workshop was to help current County workers understand the desired qualifications needed for their next career move.

The second workshop focused on interviewing skills and the Qualifications Appraisal Panel (where two or more professionals rate and score applicants on job knowledge and experience).

The hiring process can be confusing, with many steps and for some, limited access to information. We offered these workshops exclusively to OCEA members to help answer some of those questions and to provide information and tools you may find useful when applying for a transfer or promotion.

Members can view videos of the workshop presentations below. Also included is access to the county-produced materials shared at these workshops, including FAQs prepared by the county based on feedback from attendees.

OCEA hosts “member only events” all year round. Log onto to www.ocea.org and click on the “Calendar” to learn about the seminars and resources exclusively available for the personal and professional growth of OCEA members.
