YLEA Bargaining Update - October 27, 2021
Dear YLEA Member,
The Yorba Linda City Council took almost the entire month of October and two City Council sessions to craft a response to our last proposal. On October 21st, the City finally responded - by making zero changes to its previous offer. You and your co-workers deserve better.
The inaction on the part of the Council is disappointing. As many of you know, our current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City expired September 30, 2021. Your Bargaining Team had set a realistic target date of November 1st for a ratification vote. However, that target won't be met due to the City’s delay.
Your Bargaining Team is has now submitted a counterproposal to the City’s proposal, which will be reviewed by the City Council at its November 2nd meeting. We will provide updates on developments as they occur so please keep an eye on your emails.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact a YLEA Board member or OCEA staff member.
In Solidarity,
Rob Cavanaugh, YLEA President
Kate Spector, YLEA Vice President
Monse Garcia, YLEA Secretary
Kate Wolf, OCEA Labor Relations Representative
