Your Retirement Is My Priority—OCERS Candidate Chris Prevatt

Dear OCEA member,

It has been an honor to represent public servants as your Trustee on the OCERS Board. As you know, workers elect two member representatives to serve as Trustees on your behalf. I was first elected to the Board in 2012, and I have consistently stood with you to protect your OCERS pension against attacks and unnecessary cost increases.

This year, I am up for re-election. I want to thank all the workers who signed on to support my re-election campaign. I am happy to announce I have submitted all your signatures and have qualified for the ballot! I am the only candidate endorsed by OCEA and the Orange County Labor Federation representing 90 local unions with 200,000 working men and women members.

Ballots will be mailed to all General Members on or around Sept. 27, 2021, and OCERS voting will be open through Nov. 2, 2021. Ballots must be returned to the Registrar of Voters Office no later than 9 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2021.

As your Trustee, I have had the privilege of working with an exceptional OCERS staff, and we have seen the valuation of the retirement fund more than double to almost $21 billion. I proudly served as the OCERS Chairman in 2018 and have led the OCERS Investment Committee. That's the experience I bring to the table.

I have worked tirelessly with fellow member representatives Adele Tagaloa and Retired member Frank Eley to strengthen the pension system and improve the governance structure of the OCERS Board to enable this body to be more responsive to you, the rank-and-file members.

I am running for re-election because we need a representative on the OCERS Board who understands the unique needs of the General Members and will fight everyday to make sure you and your family can retire with dignity. Standing together, we will work to ensure that our lifetime of public service will come with retirement security.

I am committed to supporting and continuing the strong, member-focused leadership of Adele Tagaloa and Frank Eley. Along with Adele and Frank, I will be focused on a single mission—making sure your pension is safe with us.
